The World League

The Laser Squad Nemesis league system allows you to compete with other players to get promoted to higher divisions and ultimately become the world champion. A League game is played for points. When you start playing the game you are assigned a rating of 1000 points. When a game is won or lost, points are gained or deducted based on the two ratings of the players at the conclusion of the game.
If you beat a higher rated player you will gain more points than if you beat a lower rated player. Conversely, if you lose to a lower rated player you will lose more points than if you lost to a higher rated player.

The points gained and lost can range from 1 to 20 points. Evenly rated players will gain or lose 10 points for a battle. These calculations are based on a mathematical formula known as the ‘Elo rating system’. Laser Squad Nemesis uses the same Elo rating formula used for international chess competitions.

After you register your account and finish playing your first league game you will gain a ranking in the Rookie division. There are three divisions, Rookie, Veteran and Elite. You can only start new league games against players in the same division as you, but you can play friendly games against anyone.

The top players in each division are promoted each day. However, players are only elegible for promotion if they have played a minimum quota of league games required for promotion. You need to have completed at least 10 league games for promotion to the Veteran division, and 25 games for promotion to the Elite division.

It is also possible to get demoted if you get very near the bottom of the Veteran or Elite divisions.

Good luck with your games, and we hope you do well in the league.
