Send Challenge Screen

If you are playing an online game, this screen allows you to enter a message for your opponent. The available options are:

SEND: Send the challenge.

SAVE FILE: Save the challenge to a file on your hard disk so that you can manually send the challenge.

BACK: Return to the ‘Scenario Options’ screen.

MESSAGES

Click inside the box on the upper part of the screen and type a message for your opponent. This message will appear at the top of the email that your opponent receives, as well as in the web interface. There is a limit of 300 characters for your message. You might find communication with these messages a little odd because messages between players are exchanged simultaneously i.e. your opponent can send a message for the same turn as you. However, you will soon get used to this feature.

CONNECTING TO THE GAME SERVER

When you click on the SEND button the game will try to connect to the Laser Squad Nemesis game server to send your turn. The dialogue box on the lower part of the screen will show the progress of this connection. If you are not already connected to the internet you will see a connection window pop up.

TIP: If you are running the game in full screen mode with a dial-up internet connection it is a good idea to connect to the internet first before launching the Laser Squad Nemesis programme.

THE ‘SAVE FILE’ OPTION

You only need to use this option if the normal ‘send’ option does not work for some reason, such as firewall restrictions or SMTP authorisation requirements. After selecting ‘save file’ you will need to create a new mail in your mail software (such as Outlook) and attach the saved file, which will be in the ‘games’ folder inside the folder where Laser Squad Nemesis is installed. The file name will be shown in the dialogue box at the bottom of the screen. Address the mail to ‘lsnorders@codotech.com’. Do not attach more than one file with each email.
